Holland Crescent

Essen Engineering undertook a comprehensive seismic assessment and strengthening project on the historical Holland Crescent building, a structure embodying a hybrid steel frame and masonry shear wall construction dating back to the 1940s. This meticulous exercise was executed with the primary objective of achieving a minimum 80% NBS rating, ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the building for years to come.

The strengthening process implemented by Essen Engineering involved the strategic introduction of X-braced frames along with the enhancement of the roof diaphragm and foundations.
